Ingredients of Methi Mutton
How to make Methi Mutton
To prepare this mouth-watering non-vegetarian recipe, prepare the marinade first using yoghurt, chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, crushed green chillies and crushed ginger & garlic (you can also use ginger and garlic paste). When the marinade is ready, take a large bowl and marinate the mutton pieces for 3-4 hours.
Next, heat oil in a pot and add cloves in it. As they starts to crackle, add onions along with sliced green chillies in it.
Next, add chopped tomato in it and continue to stir for 2-3 minutes. Add, methi leaves in the pot and toss well. Add green cardamom followed by turmeric, chilli powder, coriander and garam masala. Continue to stir.
Add marinated mutton meat in the pot and toss to coat with the onion, methi and spice mixture.
Now, add water (1 or 2 cups) or as per the consistency of gravy required. Then, add salt in the pot and cover with a lid. Cook the mutton pieces on medium flame for 30-minutes stirring occasionally.
Finally, add fennel seeds and stir well. Continue to cook uncovered on high flame for about a minute or two. Turn off the burner, once done and your methi mutton is ready! Serve hot with your favourite bread.
